Looking for an anime with...

Each time I hear someone looking for an anime, they usually can remember a few details like the genre, a rough date range, and some character details.


With the data we have on ACDB, I kept thinking we really should have a tool to make it easy to perform these searches.


The first step was solving the date range problem, as we already have filter by genre. Until recently, we could only filter down titles to a single year. This made for a long drop down menu, and honestly wasn't too helpful beyond seeing what may have been released this year. It's been updated to quick decades 80s 90s 00s 10s 20s as well as quick ranges including Late 90s Mid 90s Early 90s


After that it was a matter of working in Character Traits. I choose to work in gender, eye color, hair color, hair length, age, and animal ears, role and Other Character type.


Some examples:
