Hello again everyone! Today I have the next item for your traditional Japanese collection, and a great accessory for cosplayers! You can wear your yukata to your event, but you'll need something on your feet:
Black Lacquered Geta for LadiesGeta (下駄) are a form of traditional Japanese footwear that resemble sandals. They have an elevated wooden base held onto the foot with a fabric strap similar to that on flip-flops to keep the foot well above the ground. They are normally worn with traditional Japanese clothing such as kimono or yukata. These geta are made of a sanded and polished piece of wood with a rubber sole making them easier to walk in and more comfortable. These ones have straps made of purple kimono fabric, but you can also get these geta in other colours.
And now for
Cirno's Perfect Trivia Class!
The answer to yesterday's question is:
the romanji "koi" can be translated no less than eight different ways.
鯉 koi is the fish koi (Cyprinus carpio.)
濃い koi means deep in colour, strong in flavour, or a dense consistency
故意 koi is an intention or purpose
恋 koi is a deep-seated, long-lasting love
コイ koi is the Khoi people of southern Africa
来い koi is the imperative form of the verb kuru (to come.)
古意 koi means ancient ways.
請い koi means a formal request or entreaty.
*I was looking for “koi” as in carp, the fish. Bonus points to quamp for each and every other translation!
Today's question:
What do you call the socks that can be worn with geta?
If you would like to submit your answer you can send it to cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com, or send me a PM. I will give you the answer tomorrow.
