Can someone please explain to me one thing...? (CAUTION SPOILERS!!!!)

If it was Otonashi's heart that saved her, then shouldn't that TECHNICALLY mean that Otonashi would appear in that world BEFORE her? Because logically, in order for his heart to "save" her, he would have to be dead and she would be alive. Yet Yuri was saying how the entire brigade was at war with Angel ever since. So how did Kanade appear first when her life should have ended AFTER Otonashi's?? O_o

They say in the show that his soul was lost when he died, so it didn't find that world for a long time. That's why he didn't have any memories.

I thought about the same thing when I watched it. My explanation is that time doesn't mean anything in the afterlife. Some people would arrive as soon as they died while others may show up years later. Just my guess.

the best way i can explain it, is that Kanade was dying without his heart(Before he died), thus she had a presence in the afterlife before Otonashi.

Actually, I just think Otonashi appeared in that world not instantly, but several/many years after dying. Probably wasn't completely dead while the heart was still alive.

-SPOILER- Yes, that's why she vanished in the end. The only reason they end up in that world is because they died with something unfulfilled. Her reason for being there was that she wanted to thank Yuzuru for his heart which prolonged her life. When she got to convey her feelings, she disappeared.

If you haven't finished the anime, don't read this. Their love is sort of complex, but yes, there are feelings on both sides. I don't know if you've finished the anime, but the end makes it pretty clear that they love each other. I'm not good at explaining things, but feelings are pretty easy to understand.
