Natsume's Book of Friends
AKA Natsume Yūjin-chō
(夏目友人帳), is a Japanese fantasy manga series by Yuki Midorikawa. It is about Natsume Takashi
, an orphaned teenage boy who inherits from his grandmother, Natsume Reiko, the ability to see spirits(yokai/ayakashi), as well as the notebook she used to bind spirits under her control.
It has been adapted as a series of drama CDs, as well as an anime television series produced by Brain's Base. There are currently four seasons for the anime and 13 tankobon for the manga.

This one is still fine, I'd be more surprised about the other two, if I were you. But yeah, this trick is getting old - draw a female character, say "hey, you know what, that's a male" and here you've got a trap. They no longer bother with even making them look any remotely male.
