I've seen many opportunity for tags missed, and I find it extreemly annoying that there are useless tags being created while more important ones are left out
I come to this website to find myself cosplay to do, but this often proves difficult because:
1. things that I wish to search for do not have existing tags (such as skin color [grey, darker, african-american, actual black, blue,gray etc], wearing mask/half-mask, maybe color themes such as "all pink"/"all blue" , and I have not yet seen an option for pants/dress/skirt)
2. Tag searching doesnt seem to work........ again....
So every time I end up giving up my search and try searching with google
And it annoys me because google puts up only the most popular characters, while omiting other characters or not so pupular characters
It angers me because ACD is such a great site and every time i come here I waste hours searching for characters I rarely find that fit the specks
And I've seen quite a lot of characters that don't even have any tags attached
It makes me wanna do something about it, but then I give up because there's nothing I can do, and there's no "contact us" link or anything so I can't even frikin suggest anything
Why do you do this to me every time ACD? OTL
Is there really nothing I can do about it?
And If I do find a way to contact them will they even bother reading the suggestions? Feels hopeless to me...

there is searching for skin colors...
the search itself doesnt seem to work, so i go the longer way, put in a random search (hair, eye color) then on the right click a random tag. After that click better tags on the new page, then search...

or the link

new tags are added everytime someone uses a tag that was never used before, so its not like all the efforts go to that. Tags can also be added by all members...
there are over 300 pages of char. Without tags, and they get worked on everyday, so of course some will be missing some major ones or none at all.
...there is also a tag for skirts and shirts too
...there is still a lot of tagging to be done, and we understand that.

Feel free to add the tags you think apply, LiCobra has an excellent guide about it in the guide section on the bottom menu

I deal with anything relating to characters (uploading, reassigning, franchises and tagging). I'm a very active member and am rather offended that you think I wouldn't take time to read a suggestion to better this site.

That's a bold statement. What "useless tags" do you see being created?

I do like the idea of your "half mask" tag! I've been thinking of something like that myself lately but couldn't figure out what to call it. I'll go through the mask tag and fix that later ^^

Hi YugiKitten!

I am aware of all the issues with the tags software you have mentioned. They are problems I created, and problems I've wanted solved for more than a year now. No one's more disappointed than I am that those issues still exist. I cannot say when they will be resolved, but if I mange to make some progress today I'll post an update here.

This web site is coded and designed by one person, me. I do my best to create and maintain as many features as I possibly can, but I'm just one person, there's only so much I am capable of.



Please also keep in mind the vast majority of tags were added by just 3 people. LiCobra, flareburst, and anonymous17 have added 10's of thousands of tags. Be nice to them, and I'm sure they will follow up on your best ideas. ^_^ While I do my part working on the coding aspects.

So, I've enabled the Tags Search, at last.

Even have it using the experimental multiple tags search code.

And before I could even write this post, I have people dragging me in other directions requiring a complicated edit to the lounge code.

Coding any project requires everything I have and more. Absolute focus, without distraction. The moment I get pulled in another direction, it's over.

Hi, I just thought I'd leave this here cause it's a thread about tags ^^
Are members encouraged to tag characters, or would you rather members only did it once in a while?
I'd just like to help out with adding info to the database, even if it's just tagging stuff. ^^

Members are encouraged to tag and be active, I only have one request: read the tag guide .

The guide is there so that we don't end up with multiple tags for the same thing. Also, if you get the message "this tag has been blocked" then the singular form of it will still be available.

Example of what I mean is: the "hair tubes" tag has been blocked, but the "hair tube " is what we are trying to get members to use.

Hope that helps you out in your tagging questions, anything else that you need don't hesitate to ask me. ^^
