(I figured I may as well try for a RP board! If anyone gets the title reference, you get an extra cupcake :P

I'll give a quick terminology before I start so people know what I'm talking about:
* RP : stands for "Role Play"
* god-moding : controlling the actions and words of other characters. This refers only to a character that someone uses to RP with and not "NPC" type characters.
* OOC : stands for "Out Of character". You use this to signify that it isn't your character but you asking a question.
* NPC : stands for "Non-Player Character".

My main rules:
- No god-moding
- OOC comments in brackets

That's about it! The main thing is to have some fun, although try to keep it on the PG level. We don't want to be scaring people away! If you don't have a "character" to play as you can always add yourself! ^^

Setting : Fantasy world!)



The ominous rumble of thunder was all the warning that came before a bright flash of light and the crack that rattled through the heavens set loose a deluge of icy rain that pelted down mercilessly on the ground below. The tall trees bent to near breaking point under the ferocity of the winds, many losing to power of the storm and crashing down.

The normally serene countryside had been ravaged by the recent spate of savage storms. The heavy erosion of the rains had made travelling from cities difficult as many bridges had been swept away and roads destroyed. There were still, however, those that chose to travel despite all other warnings...

The lone figure running through the storm cursed and drew his already sodden cloak closer to his body. His brother was right; the flood season was definitely not the time to travel. Squinting through the rain he could just barely make out the dim glow of lights ahead. He laughed to no one in particular and thanked the stars for his good luck.

He burst through the inviting doors of the tavern, startling the few patrons that were already safe inside. Muttering an apology he removed his dripping cloak and stood for an awkward moment at the doorway holding it before one of the staff came to greet him with a smile and take his cloak off him, showing him to the front counter.

A gruff woman stood behind the counter, watching as he tracked water through her establishment with the eyes of a hawk. As he rummaged around in his bag to get his wallet the lady was already talking.


“It’s 120 a night for a single,” she said, “Fire's already going in the rooms. Bar’s open all night and day when yer hungry. What name’s it under?”

“Ah…” the man sighed as he pulled out a few slightly wet coins. “It’s Tivu. I guess just 1 night will do me…”

The lady snatched up the coins without a blink and replaced them with a key. "Room's upstairs, on the left."

Tivu stood for a moment, watching as the woman plodded back over to the bar, then kick himself into gear. The room was fairly easy to find. First door on the left. He grabbed a hot towel and wiped himself down before grabbing his purse and heading back down to the bar. Time to introduce myself to the other patrons I suppose...

The bar was, for lack of words to say, badly decorated. The wall was of plain wood, and here and there the hunter could see some dark substance smearing the surface (he painfully hoped that wasn't what he thought it was). The tables and chairs were old and in bad condition as well. The whole room was not well-lit, as the fire on candles and oil-lamps kept swaying violently under the effect of the screaming wind outside.

For a few minutes he'd been receiving not-so-friendly looks from everyone; why was it that people had such grim looks about them? Even as this made his ever-present smile faltering a little bit, he kept it up and looked around the room. Just like he had observed earlier, the only ones occupying the bar were the barwoman and the patrons that had been there all this time. No one else seemed to had the gall to, or just stupid enough to brave the weather just for a cup of beer. Well, except for that fellow that just hurried to his room upstairs.

A few moments later, he was awarded with a familiar face. To be exact, a dripping wet one.
"Tivu! My friend!" He shouted, again earning another few glares.
Said man looked up in surprise, and when their eyes met, he grinned widely.
"Sat? Is that you?" A tight hug and a few shoulder-slaps ensued.
"Who else? Sattas Falsch, at your service."

Seeing A customer at this weird time, Poka a resident of the tavern inquires the patron.
"Who's he? He must be pretty dumb to come out in this weather."
Poka put his curiosity aside and went upstairs for his room. looked one last time over the window and forced himself to sleep

Luci sits in the far corner of the tavern alone. She watches the whole commotion involving the new guest with a somewhat odd amusement. A playful, but sinister smile slowly appears on her face. She is draped in her hooded robe, concealing her eyes with a shadow. Her Bo (OOC: For those who don't know, this is a staff) leans against the corner wall of the tavern with her slink bag, full of mysterious goods. She sips her plain water with satisfaction and sets it down on the old, wooden table. She eyes Tivu with the same curiosity Poka had, but instead of retreating to her room, she stays put. Her eyes glitter when the clock chimes at 3:00 am.
