Cirno's Stuff of the Day

Image

Oct 16, 2012

Welcome back to another cosplay addition of Cirno's Stuff of the Day! Today our cosplay gets more into actual Characters: Eru Chitanda from Hyouka! If you just love that Japanese school girl look, then you've found what you're looking for.

Even if Eru Chitanda is not what you have in mind, there is almost no better cosplay than the classic school girl. This set comes with the navy blue skirt and the white top with navy blue ribbon. It's just like you see in anime! If this year you are stuck on what to do for Halloween or you have a cosplay event that leaves you stranded with no ideas, there is no need to panic. Just go for the infallible plan B; the Japanese schoolgirl look never gets old! It's cute, classic, and convenient, great for any anime event. You can even accessorize with some shimapan for a nice effect.

And now for Cirno's Perfect Trivia Class!

The answer to yesterday's question, submitted by Kana-sama: Despite its taxonomic classification as a carnivore, the giant panda's diet is primarily herbivorous, consisting almost exclusively of bamboo. However, the giant panda still has the digestive system of a carnivore, as well as carnivore-specific genes, and thus derives little energy and little protein from consumption of bamboo. Its ability to digest cellulose is ascribed to the microbes in its gut. The giant panda is a "highly specialized" animal with "unique adaptations", and has lived in bamboo forests for millions of years. The average giant panda eats as much as 9 to 14 kg (20 to 30 lb) of bamboo shoots a day. Because it consumes a diet low in nutrition, it is important for it to keep its digestive tract full.

Today's question:
Where do Japanese school uniforms originate?

Remember, if think you know what the answer is you can send it to cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com, or send me a PM. I will give you the answer tomorrow.

Hello everyone! Halloween is coming, so we all better be getting prepared!

If you need some ideas and inspiration, then you've come to the right place. For the next little while, my Stuff will help you fulfill your cosplay dreams! Today's I chose a nice little bit of kawaii (cute) for all you lolis who want to keep warm on those chilly days of late fall and early winter:

Rabbit Moko Moko Parka!

Its furry and pink, and perfect for Halloween or just any day when you want to astonish the world with a big bit of cute. It would even make a great gift. After all, the Holiday season is approaching, and you know you don't want to get caught up with the last minute crowd.

If you are looking for an adorable and functional cosplay for this winter, or you want to make a real statement with your style, or if you know someone who will, this bunny parka is what you've been looking for!

And now for Cirno's Perfect Trivia Class!

The answer to yesterday's question, correctly given by mysterious_devil_angel is: The Maneki-neko ( literally "Beckoning Cat"; also known as Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money Cat, or Fortune Cat) is a common Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman), usually made of ceramic, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The figurine depicts a cat (traditionally a calico Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—many times at the entrance—in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses.

Today's question:
If you could cosplay as any character at all, who would it be?

If you want to contribute your answer you can send it to cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com

~ Have fun!,

Greetings, to all you reading my Stuff today! It has come to my attention that a lot of us really love cats. I happen to love cats myself, and when I see cat stuff I just go “Oh, I've gotta have that!” They can be so cuddly and friendly and loving...

And what do you know? For all of you out there who share my love for all things neko, today I chose
the purrr-fect Stuff of the day:

The Calico Cat Wall Clock and the Black Cat Wall Clock! They're cute, they're functional, and they're shaped like cats! What could be better than that to put on your wall? In Japan, cats are honoured for bringing luck and good fortune, not to mention their undeniable, irresistible cuteness. Also, they would protect food from rats and other rodents, so they were often essential to food storage.
You wanna know what time it is? Its time for you to get a kitty clock!

And now for Cirno's Perfect Trivia Class!

The answer to yesterday's question is: Where sushi got it’s name: the word comes from “zushi” which meant “sour-tasting” in an archaic language form.

Today's question:
What is a Maneki-neko?

If think you got it you can sent tell me at cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com. I will include the answer tomorrow.

~ Have a great day!

Welcome, everyone, to today's special Stuff! This time on my adventure searching for something really good for you people, I was looking for something cute, creative, and unusual. Nothing but the best for you fans of me. But what I found was imaginative, edible, and downright fascinating.

It was something that I never thought I would encounter in this life:

Do-it-yourself sushi candy! It's not just a snack to fill you up, this Popin' Cookin' DIY Sushi Candy is a complete candy experience! It comes with everything you'll need: a tray, spoons, rollers, special mixing powders to create rice, seaweed wrapping, ikura (fish eggs), maguro (tuna) and tamago (egg) sushi. It also includes simple picture instructions on the back of the box. A sweet sushi treat for the funnest snack time ever!

And now for Cirno's Perfect Trivia Class!

The answer to yesterday's question is: “Bad Apple!!” was originally included in the soundtrack of Level Stage 3 in the 4th Touhou Project game Lotus Land Story, created by series designer ZUN and released in July 1998.

Today's question:
Where did sushi get its name?

Remember, if think you know the what it is you can sent it to cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com. I will give you the answer tomorrow.

Hello again everyone! It is I, Cirno, and I'm gonna show you something really, really great today. Its cool, its wearable, its a...

BAD APPLE T-SHIRT!!!

I mean, what is seriously better than that? It has my picture on it! It has Reimu and Marisa on it too, but big deal. It also says Bad Apple in kanji on the back

What in this world is better than a shirt with me on it, let me ask. It makes a perfect gift for Otaku friends or even to yourself. Cause, like, who couldn't use more clothes? And when it comes to clothes this great, there is no argument that this shirt is a must have for all Touhou fans, and Bad Apple fans especially, and fans of anime in general, and fans of clothes, and fans of me of course!

So, let's play a little game. I will ask you a trivia question, and the answer will be in tomorrow's episode:

When was the Touhou song "Bad Apple" first released?

You can submit answers to me, cirno@animecharactersdatabase.com
Good luck!

ACDB Cards is now live, as of October 2012!

You can find cards in treasure chests. You can also collect up to 3 cards per day from the lounge by using the .card script.

What are ACDB cards?

Since August, members have been able to upload cards as part of card collections ( or sets ). Once these collections are completed, and approved by a moderator for distribution, they become an official set. Cards in official sets are then distributed at random daily using the above mentioned means ( get them from the lounge or in treasure chests ).

Already there are a great number of awesome cards to collect!

Next up will be trading cards to complete your sets even faster. ^_^

It's different form Hakuouki, for one it has nothing to do with the shinsengumi and it takes place sometime before the Edo period during the sekigahara battle. If you haven't played it don't assume anything.
